For years The Lurking Novelist has silently lingered around the creative writing blogosphere, reading but never participating in the musings of aspiring writers, industry insiders and published authors. She's the quiet, judgemental type; she'll always choose a single eyebrow raise over pointing and laughing. She's not interested in posts about the perfect online critique partner, that form rejection, or your self promotion. The Lurking Novelist wants to talk honestly, critically and snarkily about writing. If you're in search of sepia toned photos of writing desks and the soundtrack she listens to while rewriting chapter 11, move along. This is not the blog you're looking for.
The Lurking Novelist lived in London for seven years before relocating to NYC to pursue her Creative Writing MFA (yes, she's one of those). She enjoys faux-leather, Dornish food, extra dirty martinis with a minimum of three olives, and her favourite British iPad that autocorrects most Z's with S and adds a myriad of unnecessary U's. On her sassier days she can be found tumbling at Oh Hey, BK. She also takes maniacal pleasure in satirising aspiring authors whose blog bios utilise the third person as though they're not the ones sitting there, typing this out themselves.
